Few shows have the staying power of a classic like Sesame Street, but the educational series remains a favorite as it heads into its 51st season this week on HBO Max.
The new season will be the first to debut on the streaming platform, with 35 episodes in total, and will mark the beginning of a 2-year curriculum focused on playful problem-solving. A new episode will premiere each Thursday with content designed to build critical thinking skills in young kids to help them handle challenges they may face in school and life.
Singer Hailee Steinfeld will perform a new song called “I Wonder, What If, Let’s Try” in the Nov. 26 episode. The anthem will play in future Sesame Street episodes throughout the year. Families will also see appearances from additional celebrity guests this season, including Maggie Rogers (Nov. 19), Issa Rae (Dec. 10), Stephen and Ayesha Curry (March 25), Billy Porter (April 1), and Kelsea Ballerini ( June 17).
The new season will debut on HBO Max this Thursday, Nov. 12, and will head to PBS Kids next fall. Families can catch previous seasons of Sesame Street on PBS stations, the PBS Kids 24/7 channel, and the PBS Kids Video app (no subscription needed).
