In preparation of the upcoming launch of the third season of Shopkins collectible figures, Moose Toys has revealed a priceless, one-of-a-kind character made entirely out of crystal. The crystal Shopkins character, named Gemma Stone, will be on display at the upcoming North American International Toy Fair in New York from February 14 to 17.
Following its appearance at Toy Fair, the crystal Shopkins will be auctioned off online later in the year. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Toy Industry Foundation, a non-profit organization that distributes toys to undeserved, at-risk and homeless children worldwide.
Since the debut of Shopkins last summer, Moose Toys has sold more than 65 million products worldwide. To keep up with high demand, more than 5 million Shopkins characters are made every week. The brand has also attracted a strong online fan base, garnering 13 million views on Shopkins webisodes and more than 400 million views on Shopkins fan videos. Limited Edition characters, normally retailing at $2.99, are selling upwards of $1,500 each on eBay. Shopkins are available in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Shopkins season three characters will debut this fall, with more than 140 new collectible figures joining the Shopkins family. New play sets, including the Scoops Ice-Cream Truck playset, which will be one of the feature lines in the range, and licensed products will also release this fall.
