Get ready to dance and sing! The legendary kids’ musician Laurie Berkner is hitting the new year running with her 14th studio album: Let’s Go!
The new album features an array of exciting and interactive songs fit for her young audience. Highlights from Let’s Go include “I’m on Vacation,” a ’60s-inspired song with good vibes throughout, and “Happy New Year,” featuring Latin folk rhythms perfect for saying goodbye to 2020.
Berkner spoke specifically about one track, “Listen to the Sounds,” and its personal meaning in a press release: “Quiet listening to what’s around me has always felt somewhat magical, but actually listening to my own heartbeat and breathing — my own life force — is something I only learned to truly love as an adult. I wrote this song hoping to open up the possibility for kids to feel that love for themselves.”
