Glitter is the best craft supply there is. It’s versatile, sparkly, textured — what’s not to love?! Actually, there is one wee little tiny downside to glitter, and that’s that it’s wee and tiny and tactile enough to get everywhere — and stay everwhere. But what if glitter was mess-free?
Well, now it is! Crayola’s Glitter Dots are glitter-infused dots that stick to a variety of surfaces so you can make sparkly designs without the mess. The Glitter Dots Sparkle Station allows kids to roll out Glitter Dots into different shapes and sizes, and use them to decorate their masterpieces — tons of fun, zero hassle. Kids can experiment by adding Glitter Dots to paper, wood, felt, papier-mâché, fabric, foam board, and more. The set includes different art tools so kids have options and can try applying Glitter Dots in a variety of ways.
The Sparkle Station set includes 84 Glitter Dots, one roller, nine roller cutter attachments in different round shapes, one flat roller, six shape cutters, two plastic resist sheets, one cardstock box, three cards, one clay tool, one work mat, and an instruction sheet.
Depending on their skill level, kids can create simple shapes using the cutters, such as stars, hearts, moons, leaves, and more; roll out coils to make a 3D rope; or use the rolling pin and add-on cutting wheels to make more advanced shapes and decals. Make sure you have a good supply of Glitter Dots around because if you use fewer than 15 dots, you won’t be able to roll them out to the desired thickness — about the thickness of a quarter.
Kids can also mix colors to create new hues with more dimension. When kids are done using the Sparkle Station to make shapes and decals, they can store their opened, unused Glitter Dots in an airtight plastic container for their next craft session, no need to toss them out!
