There’s nothing like coming home from a long day and taking a soothing bath. Being a kid is hard, right?

Now kids can elevate that feeling and bring the spa experience home with the Alex DIY Bath Bombs kit, from Alex Brands. All they need to do to create the perfect bath bomb is follow the directions to mix the proper ingredients, put their mixtures in the mold, and wait for it to dry.

The kit includes enough ingredients for kids to make up to six fizzy bath bombs, so they can create one for themselves whenever they want, or they can give them as luxurious gifts for their friends.

This kit is all-inclusive, so no outside ingredients or tools are necessary. It features a heart-shaped and ball mold; two packets each of baking soda, cornstarch, Epsom salt, and succinic acid; strawberry and vanilla fragrance; blue, pink, and yellow food coloring; a measuring spoon; and a stir stick. While some of these ingredients may sound intimidating, they are all safe for kids to use.

First, combine one pack of baking soda, cornstarch, and epsom salt. Then, use the measuring spoon to add water and fragrance oil. Use one scent or combine them both! You can add optional cooking oil or favorite skin conditioning oil for healthy, soft skin. Mix the powder with your hands, and then add one bag of succinic acid, and then mix again with your hands until there are no big clumps. Divide the powder into separate bowls, and now we’re up to my favorite part!

Add food coloring to each bowl, and kids can get creative and mix and match different colors to create anything from bold colors to soft pastels. The instructions also include some suggested ways to create different colors. I am obsessed with how vibrant all of the colors ended up being because they look just like something you could buy in a store.

Next, pack the powder into the molds, and slightly overfill them. This is where kids can really get creative and mix their different colors they just made to make a fun tie dye or ombre effect. Then, press both sides of the mold together, and then tap the top and bottom. Carefully pull the mold apart, and voi-la! You have your bath bomb!

If your bath bomb ends up being to crumbly, no worries! This happened to me, too, so just add some more powder and repeat the process. Now, kids are officially fizz whizzes!

I know that kids are going to want to immediately throw their bath bombs in the water, but they need to let them dry overnight. Trust me, I tried, and it’s well worth the wait.

They don’t call them bath bombs for nothing. When you drop one of these into the water, they will explode with fizzy colors of the rainbow and delicious scents from the essential oils!

Kids can ditch the trip to the spa and forgo expensive beauty products with this DIY bath bomb kit!
