A lot of songs on the radio catch kids’ attention—especially pop music, with its catchy beats and choruses that stay in your head forever and ever. The problem is that most kids (as we all know) can become sponges that soak up those lyrics, even if they don’t understand the meaning. You could find yourself with a young kid with well intentions singing their heart out in a grocery store, accidentally appalling all the other adults.
Fortunately, Kidz Bop (26 albums ago) discovered a solution to this problem, by taking pop songs and have them sung for kids BY kids. The famous Kidz Bop kids sing kid-friendly songs on each album, meaning it’s the same songs you’ll hear on the radio, but with kid-friendly edits if they need it.
The newest album, Kidz Bop 26, was just released on July 15, with 15 brand-new pop songs sung by the Kidz Bop Kidz—Ashlynn Chong, Bredia Santoro, Grant Knoche, Matt Martinez, and Jayna Brown. These very talented youngsters ranging in age from 10 to 12 years old, are genuine kids that are chasing their dreams in music and beyond. These kids also serve as great role models for your kids to chase after their own dreams, whether they be in entertainment or not.
Kidz Bop 26 features songs such as “Happy,” “Timber,” and “Counting Stars.” My favorite song on the set list is “Let It Go,” the exceptionally popular song from Disney’s Frozen. The reason I appreciate—and I’m sure parents will agree—this version is that it’s a song kids love, but a newer version of it. Although your kid may be obsessed with the song, the Kidz Bop Kids offer them a new version to listen to! Kidz Bop 26 is also great for parents while in the car because it’s full of songs you know from the radio, too. It’s a great compromise for the whole family.
Don’t forget to check out the Kidz Bop Kidz Dream Big, Sing Loud! Tour, which kicked off in New York City on July 14 to coincide with the release of the release of Kidz Bop 26 on July 15.
