Macmillan Toys is giving girls the key to the toy factory with its latest customizable fashion figure, the YouDoll. The toy company hopes to empower girls with a unique collection of dolls that will challenge kids’ creativity, raise their self-esteem, and celebrate diversity.
Co-creating a doll on youdolls.com is simple and interactive. Using the website’s âcreative station,â girls can dream up their ideal dolls in six easy steps.
Kids can design the doll’s physical attributes, including skin tone, eye color, hair color, and hairstyle. Then, users customize the dolls style by choosing from contemporary fashion trends that range from sophisticated evening-wear to casual and stylish jeans. They can even add a personal touch with accessories, including more than 100 different combinations of musical instruments, sport equipment, pets, electronics, appliances, and more. Finally, kids give her a name and the title is printed on the front of the box.
Kickstarter pledges range from $10 to $2,500 and prizes include the dolls in various customizable kits, additional accessories, outfits, and branded key charms and T-shirts.
