While it was hugely popular in Japan, Yo-kai only recently made its way to the U.S., where you may hear your kids begging for the latest toys.

The story centers around a young boy named Nate who gets a special watch that allows him to discover and summon the mysterious Yo-kai spirits that help him solve problems in his daily life that are usually caused by other trouble-making Yo-kai. (Get it? Yo-kai watch.)

Hasbro released a full line of toys and accessories so that fans of Yo-Kai Watch can bring all of the fun home. The line includes fun figures, plush, collectible Yo-Kai medals, and more. The centerpiece of the line is the Yo-Kai Watch itself—a role-play item that lets kids summon their own Yo-kai using the collectible medals.

Designed for kids ages 4 and up, the watch recognizes all of the Yo-kai medals by name. It comes with two medals to get kids started, and Hasbro plans to release more than 100 Yo-kai medals throughout this year, so kids can be collecting constantly.

When kids place one of the Yo-kai medals into the watch, they’ll hear the character’s name, tribe song, and more sounds and phrases. Fans can place themselves right in the middle of the Yo-kai world as they pretend to summon the characters to help them through their daily adventures.

The great thing about these Yo-Kai Watch products is the collectability. The Yo-kai medals warm my ’90s kid heart with their resemblance to Pogs. (REMEMBER POGS?!) The Yo-Kai Watch Yo-Kai Medallium Collection Book is the perfect way for kids to keep track of this collection. It looks like the book that appears in the Disney XD animated series, and gives kids a place to collect and organize their Yo-kai Medals like Nate does in the cartoon.
