PictopiaBoxThroughout the better part of my younger years, I was quite the Disney Trivia champion. I loved challenging my family and friends to a battle of Disney wits, showing off my knowledge of heroes and villains alike (I blame my competitive spirit on growing up with an older brother). Of course, Disney movies are beloved by many, spanning generations and age boundaries, which makes games based on these films perfect for family game night.

The newest addition to a Disney-lover’s game closet should be Pictopia: Disney Edition, the ultimate picture-trivia family game from Wonder Forge. This game features trivia about Disney classics, such as Cinderella and Alice and Wonderland, and newer favorites, such as Planes and Brave. The trivia cards feature four pictures of famous Disney characters or icons with questions on the back. During each new turn, the Host asks a question based on the space on which the player lands on the game board.

PictopiaOutofBoxEach of the remaining players uses a wager tile to determine how many spaces (up to 5) they’ll move forward if they answer correctly, and places it face down on the game board. Pictopia features collaborative team-play questions, and solo questions, where a player must answer on his or her own. It also features fun Spotlight questions in which the answer is based on the Host’s opinion, and the rest of the players must try to guess how the Host will answer. And believe you me: You can learn A LOT about a person by the way they answer Disney-themed questions. The free Pictopia app, available at the App Store and on Google Play, features bonus content and a Lightning-Round Finale for more family fun.

The recommended age rating for Pictopia is kids ages 7 and up—which is the perfect demographic for this game. Kids on the younger end of this spectrum will be able to understand and grasp the nuances of the gameplay, while parents and adults will love seeing their favorite characters and showing off their Disney knowledge.

The game is designed for two to six players; however, with this game, it seems to be the more the merrier. The wagering stakes become higher when more people are involved, and for the group questions, it’s nice to have a few other Disney-lovers on your team to help you out. That being said, we played the game successfully with two editors, and it was still lots of fun.

So grab your friends and family and get ready to show off that Disney knowledge—and maybe learn a little bit about your opponents along the way.
