Everyone loves a good challenge, especially when the challenge evokes laugh-track worthy reactions from their friends and family. There’s honestly nothing better than submitting your loved ones to good-humored practical jokes and challenges. If you’re looking for something fun, safe, and creative for your family to enjoy, then the What’s in the Box Ryan’s Goo Challenge, from Blip, is a great toy for you.

The toy is based on the popular “What’s in the Box” challenge, in which well-known celebrities stick their hands into a covered box and guess what’s inside. Ryan’s challenge works the same way, except that the box is filled with gelatinous, fluorescent-green slime. A challenger must stick their hand through the included challenge box lid, which prevents a player from seeing what’s inside the goo. At that point, the challenger must feel around the box and guess what’s inside. The box comes with one of three Ryan’s World mystery figures, but a player can put any kind of item they want in the goo as long as it fits through the lid.

The goo is reminiscent of Nickelodeon slime and cartoon boogers, so you can assume sticking your hand into it is a challenge in itself. Anticipation is the real killer; it took me about five minutes before I forced my hand into the tub — I’ll be honest, sticking my fingers into 3 pounds of cold slime was extremely unpleasant. If you get grossed out by weird textures and goo, then I would skip out on the challenge and give the box to another player. A word of warning: The goo does leave a film on your skin when you remove your hand, so hand-washing is encouraged after you finish the challenge.

Ryan’s Goo Challenge is intended for kids ages 3 and up. The goo sticks to everything, so that’s something to keep in mind if the challenge box is for a messy or clumsy player. Luckily, it also comes with a resealable lid to preserve the goo and prevent spills.

Despite the inherently messy quality, this toy will make texture-oriented kids who enjoy sticking their hands into goo very happy. It can also function as a great challenge for events if you’re looking for something different to spice up your evening with family and friends. It’s fun, gross, and it’s great for Ryan’s World fans.
