VelveteenRabbitGame

While Toy Story taught us that all toys just want to be loved and played with, there was a soft little bunny who proved this was true nearly 100 years ago: the Velveteen Rabbit.

Now, the lovable little rabbit from the classic tale by Margery Williams comes to life in a board game from Winning Moves Games. Designed for kids ages 4 and up, players race to collect all four picture cards to win the pink heart and turn their Velveteen Rabbit into a real one, just like in the book.

In the game, kids take turns spinning the spinner to move around the game board in any direction. If they land on a picture space or pass over a corner space, they get to collect the corresponding picture card. Each double-sided picture card features iconic imagery from the story, including the scene when the Velveteen Rabbit chats with the skin horse about becoming real, and the scene when he meets the real rabbits and learns about hopping. The game board also features imagery from the nursery, the iconic fairy, and the boy himself.

Designed for two to four players, kids can choose between four two-sided game pieces, each of which has a soft and fuzzy texture and features a different color. The freeform style of the game allows kids to hop around the game board without feeling like they are stuck behind other players, while exploring all of the beautiful, detailed imagery at hand. From the Velveteen Rabbit’s wrinkled ears to the rosy cheeks of the fairy, the game board is packed with meaningful little details.

The game also features a striking color pallet that is beautifully bright while remaining true to the classic nature of the Velveteen Rabbit tale. With seconds-long setup, gameplay that takes just about 15-20 minutes, and an easy-to-learn concept, this game is great for repeat play. Perfect for families looking for a nostalgic game to play together, the Velveteen Rabbit Game will make the perfect addition to any game night.
