If you haven’t played Pokémon GO, have you really lived?
That certainly seemed to be the question this summer, when the augmented reality game took the world by storm following its July release. Ever since, players ranging from kids to adults (because long-time fans deserve to catch ’em all, too!), dedicate all their blood, sweat, and tears to their one, true mission: find, capture, battle, and train as many Pokémon as they can track down. If you have Pokémon fever just like the rest of us, be sure to check out these awesome toys:
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon (Nintendo)
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are the first installments in the seventh generation of the Pokémon series. The new Nintendo 3DS adventures take place on the Alola Region, the home of four tropical islands filled with tons of tourists (next family vacation?). With these new worlds come new Pokémon and missions to discover. The games celebrate 20 years since the launch of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, and players will be able to transfer Pokémon they have caught in the original games—as well as in Pokémon Yellow— into Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Get ready, because come November, adventures await.
Ages: E for Everyone
MONOPOLY: Pokémon Johto Edition (USAopoly)
What good is a fandom if it doesn’t have it’s own Monopoly game? Luckily, Pokémon has quite a few versions up its sleeve. The latest one, MONOPOLY: Pokémon Johto Edition, from USAopoly, was released this summer and sends players on a journey through the Johto region, including all eight Gyms. While players come across different Pokémon, they’ll collect Trainer Battle and Professor Elm cards that contain either rewards or sneaky surprises.
Throw ’n Pop Poké Ball (TOMY)
Kids can brush up on their Pokémon-training skills with the Throw ‘n’ Pop Poké Ball. When kids throw their Poké Ball with all they’ve got, it pops open to reveal a 2-inch figure. With the unique scoring system, Poké trainers can extend the fun and battle their friends. Kids will have to put all their skills to the test as they battle to prove their Poké worth. With a Pikachu & Poké Ball, Chespin & Premier Ball, Fennekin & Great Ball, and Froakie & Ultra Ball, there are so many awesome Throw ‘n Pop sets to choose from.
Assorted Pokémon Costumes (Rubie’s Costumes Co.)
Whether kids want to get an early start to Halloween, or just want to have a little fun and play dress-up, Rubies’ Pokémon collection is the go-to place for the coolest and cutest looks. With their choice of Pokémon ranging from Charizard, Squirtie, Bulbasaur, Jiggly Puff, and more, along with classics like Pikachu and Ash, the sky is the limit. The costumes come in different styles—one-pieces, hoodies, pants, skirts—to fit every personality and taste.
Pokémon Feature Action Figure: Mega Charizard Y (TOMY)
Mega Charizard Y is ready for battle and won’t let anyone stand in his way. The 6-inch figure features a button on the tail to set Charizard Y in battle action mode. Stand back as the Pokémon’s wings flail and his mouth opens and snaps close.
Web Exclusive Pikachu Set (Build-A-Bear)
When a hard day’s work of catching Pokémon is over, kids can cuddle up with a personalized Build-A-Bear Pikachu. The Pikachu Web Exclusive set features a 15-inch Pikachu, a Poké Ball hoodie, a Charizard hoodie, a 6-in-1 Pikachu sound, and a Build-A-Bear Exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game.
