LeoQuadBlaster

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will blast into kids’ toy boxes this spring—quite literally.

The T-Blasts Quad-Blaster Assortment, a new line from Playmates Toys, brings the four turtles into the palms of kids’ hands. They will finally have the proper ninja power to launch the TMNT team into battle against Shredder and the Foot Clan. One of my favorites from the line is the Leonardo Quad Blaster.

TMNTDartOne of the first things that will draw kids right to these blasters are the familiar faces they’ll see on them. The blasters themselves don the exact colors and style of each ninja turtle—and the personalities of the turtles definitely shine through. The high detail on the Leonardo blaster, for example, has all the signature features kids see on TV and in the movies. He is deep green, and has a sly smile and a blue bandana that runs around the whole blaster.

Each blaster in the line fires up to 40 feet—just ask our publisher Jonathan about the wide grin on my face when I tested this out across the length of our office. The Leonardo Quad blaster also features a rotating barrel, which quickly rotates a multi-blaster chamber. To shoot, all kids need to do is pull back the launcher and let go with ease, letting them shoot all four darts in a matter of seconds.

The blaster comes with four darts in the theme of character. (The only way I want my TMNT blaster darts to look is with my favorite characters on them.) So, the head of the Leonardo darts have his face on it, and the color of his bandana extends throughout the entire body of the dart. The darts are much bigger and softer than others on the market, so when I tested other darts, they did not shoot.

Perfect for indoor and outside play, this low-tech blaster is a definite must-have for every TMNT fan. The full line includes the Quad Blaster Michelanglo, Quad Blaster Raphael, Quad Blaster Leonardo, and Michelangelo comes as a crossbow. Additional darts in different characters will be available for purchase separately.
