The Minions are back!
The lovable yet sinister yellow villains are back to star in their third standalone movie, coming this summer. With Illumination’s Minions: The Rise of Gru, the film follows the untold story of a young Gru’s quest to become the world’s greatest supervillain of all time. A youthful Gru — sporting his now-iconic gray striped scarf — teams up with the Minions once again for various hijinks and adventure.
A teaser trailer dropped last night in a Super Bowl TV spot, promising big laughs and big, action-packed stunts. The clip teases more of the franchise’s signature sense of humor, plenty of over-the-top villainous stunts, lots of bad guys, and even a brand-new Minion. Otto, a plump and adorable minion, joins the crew with his braces, denim overalls, and little spikes of hair.
An official trailer for the new film drops this Wednesday, Feb. 5.
