Get egg-cited for a new comedy-adventure series heading to Disney Junior this spring.

The first season of The Chicken Squad is set to premiere this May on Disney Junior and DisneyNOW. The show will follow three young chicken siblings, Coop, Sweetie, and Little Boo, as they go on numerous adventures solving mysteries and rescuing their friends around their neighborhood. Joined by their rescue dog mentor, Captain Tully, the team will show kids what it means to be a good community helper and find happiness in assisting others.

Season one will kick off with two back-to-back episodes, each featuring two 11-minute stories. If The Chicken Squad sounds familiar, it’s because the series is based on the popular kids’ book series of the same name, written by author Doreen Cronin.

The voice cast includes Yvette Nicole Brown as Captain Tully, Ramone Hamilton as Coop, Gabriella Graves as Sweetie, and Maxwell Simkins as Little Boo. The recurring guest voice cast includes Tony Hale as Frazz, a nervous squirrel; Jane Lynch as Dr. Dirt, a forensic scientist snail; Melissa Rauch as Dinah, the chicks’ mother; Sean Giambrone as Riley, a gruff packrat; Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Lt. Scruffy, a retired firehouse dog; and Melissa Villaseñor and Zack Pearlman as Wheeze and Snick, mischievous raccoon siblings.

From rescuing puppies to tracking down food for birds, The Chicken Squad is always ready to help. The first two episodes will premiere on Disney Junior on May 14 at 7:30 p.m. EDT. The digital soundtrack, Disney Junior Music: The Chicken Squad, will feature the theme song and music from the series and will launch on Walt Disney Records on May 14.
