There is one animal that definitely cannot be caged: The Animal.

While it may not actually be a four-legged creature, it is a four-wheeled force of nature from Spin Master. The monster truck breaks out of its own box — which it can do over and over again for repeat reveal play — but it’s up to kids to make it angry enough to escape.

The Animal part truck, part beast, and all fun. Kids knock on the box and the truck will knock back. When they yell, it will roar back. Do a mixture of both and it will break free. The “creature” features glowing eyes, retractable claws, and growling sounds. Parents might want to help kids reveal the toy for the first time, as there is a larger box around the one it breaks free from. Directions are as easy as 1, 2, 3 — literally, numbers run along the box for kids to follow. When they open up the first box they’ll find a key and that’s what wakes up The Animal.

To discover more ways it interacts once it breaks free, kids just need to keep pushing its buttons. A motor button on the front controls whether it’s driving or not and a lever in the back as an easy break. There’s also a throttle located just above the lever to control which direction The Animal will take. Kids can use the included tow strap to tow their slightly less animalistic toy trucks or cars or flip the switch into reverse and challenge another truck to tug of war!

The Animal might sound like havoc on your floors, but the retractable claws are not dangerous or sharp. They only activate when it comes into contact with an obstacle. The only possible problem that could arise is the truck’s ability to climb over objects up to 3 inches tall — and its constant call for challenges. There is just simply no guarantee that kids will not stack rocks or pile up other toys for it to climb over. Luckily, The Animal can ravage inside or outside, so parents who don’t want a small obstacle course in their living room can send kids to the backyard while the weather is still nice.

While The Animal cannot be caged it can produce a roaring amount of fun. Place it back into its box to start all over.
