StarWarsCommandEpicAssaultSetWith the Star Wars Command Epic Assault figures and vehicles set from Hasbro, kids ages 4 and up can stage large-scale battles between the cast of Star Wars Rebels and the Imperial Empire. Along with the main protagonist and antagonist of Star Wars Rebels—Ezra Bridger and The Inquisitor, respectively—the set comes with such characters as Kanan Jarrus, Sabrine Wren, a handful of Stormtroopers, and more. The smallest figures are definitely a bit on the short side, making the age range quite suitable. The vehicles, meanwhile, include the heroes’ ship, The Ghost, as well as a pair of Imperial Tie Fighters and AT-DP Walkers.

Every item in the set is dramatically posed and finely detailed: For example, both Ezra and The Inquisitor have vibrantly colored lightsabers, and they look poised to use them. All the figures and vehicles are also ready for display, whether that’s on a shelf or a battleground from one’s imagination. Each figure can stand on its own, and the set comes with enough clear display pieces to accommodate The Ghost, the Tie Fighters, and the Walkers. Indeed, some of the transparent stands are perches for the starships, giving the impression they are floating in mid-air.

The last—and in my opinion, the best—pieces in the set are two Rev Up Strikers, which drive forward at impressive speed after being pulled back. Kids can use them for races, or to send starships flying at the various figures, or each other. The bottom line: This set has all the makings of an epic battle between good and evil, and it’s the best kind of good versus evil battle—the kind that includes laser swords and ships that go fast.
