Before he lived in a pineapple under the sea, SpongeBob SquarePants lived in a tent under the stars, under the sea.
Nickelodeon’s long-running series is getting a CG-animated prequel, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, featuring a 10-year-old SpongeBob at a sleepaway camp. The series will focus on SpongeBob and his young friends enjoying summer camp activities, such as building underwater fires, catching wild jellyfish, and swimming in Lake Yuckymuck.
Members of the stellar staple voice cast are reprising their roles, bringing Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) out of Bikini Bottom and onto the campgrounds.
Kamp Koral is one of several new series, renewals, and made-for-TV programs coming to Nickelodeon this year.
