Ever wonder what your pet does all day when your family leaves the house?
Soon, the pets from The Secret Life of Pets are coming off their leashes and heading to a brand-new ride at Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City, California.
For the new Universal ride, which is called “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash,” the star-studded voice cast will — for the first time — reprise their roles. In this immersive experience, visitors will take on the roles of stray puppies as they go on a quest to find their forever homes. The theme park ride will blend live and animated characters with realistic projections of New York City that resemble scenes from the movies.
Guests are seated in vehicles that resemble cardboard boxes, much like the one where Katie finds her pup, Max. From there, guests will travel along a track toward a Pet Adoption event and a happy ending. The innovative theme park attraction uses facial recognition technology and enhanced gesture tracking to help identify each guest as a stray puppy for the length of the ride.
“Off the Leash!” opens this spring and will be located on Pets Place (previously known as Baker Street) in the theme park, adjacent to the “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” and “Super Silly Fun Land” attractions.
