Comedian Rob Delaney is rolling the dice with All Things Equal, maker of the Loaded Questions and Awkward Family Photos games, with a new board game that’s based on his Twitter page. Rob Delaney’s War of Words is a game of fill-in-the-blanks, open-ended questions, and head-to-head challenges related to Delaney’s popular tweets. His Twitter page has more than 830,000 followers and has won him the title of Funniest Person on Twitter from Comedy Central, The Huffington Post, and others.
Although no knowledge of Twitter is required to play Rob Delaney’s War of Words, a strong creative and witty mind (as well as a hearty appetite for profanity) will help players race their game pieces, which include a squirrel, a coffee mug, a ham sandwich, and a creepy van, around the board.
In the game, players compete head-to-head with another player as each reads aloud one of Rob’s tweets and the other players decide which is funnier; come up with clever answer to fill-in-the-blanks and open-ended questions related to Delaney’s tweets; correctly guess which player wrote which answer; and draw cards from the unpredictable War Chest – a separate card deck that can help or hurt players’ chances of winning the game.
The rowdy party game is perfect for a night-in for comedy-loving fans everywhere. Be wary though: Delaney’s comedy is raunchy and profane, and the game is not for a weak stomach or a closed mind. The box comes with a warning: “This game contains naughty words. You should be ashamed of yourself.” As long as players know what they’re in for (perhaps prepping by skimming Delaney’s Twitter page and not going in blind), it’s a hilariously funny, one-of-a-kind game that proves that party games aren’t just for kids. The game gives players the chance to not only laugh at Delaney’s wit, but also to discover their own talents and wit.
