The Real Construction Deluxe Workshop, from Jakks Pacific, gives kids the opportunity to use their imagination and design their own projects, while incorporating key elements of STEM curriculums. Kids can build things out of foam wood that can safely be sawed, nailed, and screwed without making a mess.
The Deluxe Workshop is 129 pieces of fun that includes a hand saw, a hammer, a screwdriver, a detail saw, a square measurer, a hole cutter, bores with handle, 50 screws, 50 nails, two hinges, two large beams, five small beams, four small logs, a large log, three large planks, four small planks, and a set of plans for eight projects. With all this fun packed into one box, kids can become carpenters and create anything they can imagine.
The saw easily cuts through the “wood” without the scary possibility of kids cutting themselves. Once kids cut out all of the pieces they need, they can attach the pieces by screwing them together or nailing them. The screws and nails easily go through the foam and shouldn’t require any assistance from an adult. Kids have the opportunity to follow the eight project plans or use their imagination to build.
With this construction set, kids can’t hurt themselves, which is great because parents don’t have to worry about their little builders. They also learn the basics of STEM concepts, as well as the foundation of skills they may need when they graduate up to real carpentry.
