Princess Power pinky promises to be an adorable, colorful, show with the important lesson that it’s not just what you wear, but what you do that makes a difference!

The new Netflix series is based on the New York Times bestselling children’s book series Princesses Wear Pants by Savannah Guthrie and Allison Oppenheim. The show will feature four main princess characters, each from a different kingdom themed around fruit. Kira Kiwi, Beatrice “Bea” Blueberry, Rita Raspberry, and Penelope “Penny” Pineapple will need to band together to help save beached whales, make the perfect festival happen, and learn about friendship. The first book in the series the show is based on follows Princess Penelope Pineapple, who has many dresses, but also wears pants depending on what job she has to do for the day. Penelope has to find a way to express herself when Lady Busyboots says she has to wear a gown to the Pineapple Ball. The book series, as well as the upcoming show, aims to encourage kids to embrace all sides of themselves.

With sparkles, cute animals, and friendship, Princess Power will teach kids that princesses are perfectly capable. The series is executive produced in part by Savannah Guthrie, who co-authored the original book, and features showrunner Elise Allen and an exciting cast of voice actors.
