Along with the announcement, Nintendo started introducing fans to the new region’s landscape, trainers, characters, and Pokémon in a second official trailer. For the first time, these new games feature two Pokémon professors. Players who pick Pokémon Scarlet will meet Professor Sada, while players who choose Pokémon Violet will talk with Professor Turo. The trailer also shows a new mechanic in which players can team up with up to four people to explore the region, battle, and trade together.

While the first trailer introduced trainers to the newest starter pokemon — Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly — the newest one gave us a first look at some of the other familiar and new faces within the region’s wilds. Players can spot Pikachu, Fletchling, Flaaffy, and more in the trailer, as well as the newcomers Lechonk, Smoliv, and Pawmi.
