The Foil Art Jewelry Sticker Kit, from Peaceable Kingdom, surprised me with its ease of use and neat end result. Designed for kids ages 6 and up, the kit includes templates for 10 bracelets, 6 pendants, 6 beads, as well as 28 foil sheets and a 16-inch pink cord.
To make the jewelry, kids peel off the top layer of the part of the piece they want to fill in with foil, revealing a sticker surface. By placing a foil sheet on the sticker and pressing down, the foil adheres to the surface in the shape of the exposed sticker, while the rest of the foil sheet is pulled away.
When trying out the kit, I decided to make a bracelet. After filling in the smaller sections, I was wondering how the longer, full-length edges of the bracelet were going to look, because they were longer than the foil pieces and would need to be filled in in two pieces. The foil is so thin and sticks so well that there is virtually no visible seam.
In addition to the bracelets, the beads and pendants can also be worn by stringing them onto the included cord. They can be worn as necklaces, headbands, and bracelets.
