Sidekick no more: Patrick Star is stepping out from SpongeBob’s shadow with a spinoff series of his own.
Following in the footsteps of the recent SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff series and movie, The Patrick Star Show will dive into young Patrick’s family life through 13 episodes airing this summer on Nickelodeon.
The show will follow Patrick and his made-up adventures from inside his bedroom, where he hosts his own “television show” and displays it for the entire neighborhood to see. Patrick’s sister, Squidina, joins the series to aid Patrick in pulling off each of his episodes. She’s basically the executive producer. Watch for Patrick’s fun-loving parents and genius grandfather who often get in the way, causing hilarious disruptions to the show.
Young Patrick is voiced by his original voice actor, Bill Fagerbakke. Veteran SpongeBob actors Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton) will also return for the series, alongside some new cast members.
The first Spongebob Squarepants spinoff, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, debuts today on the Paramount+ streaming service.
