NumberLovinOven

Cooking toys are very en vogue this year—with tons of options out there for all kids of all ages.

LeapFrog’s Number Lovin’ Oven (besides having an incredible name) gets our youngest learners in on the food play fun. Little chefs as young as 2 can enjoy tons of play with this oven, adding in the secret ingredient of learning.

First off, parents do not need to worry: All baking and cooking with the Number Lovin’ Oven is pretend-play only. There’s no heat or mess at all. This talking oven sings and teaches a bunch of number and counting skills through more than 30 songs and phrases. That’s some oven.

What’s great about this oven is that multiple kids can play at once—it’s not just a solo-play toy. They can cook up some serious fun, while learning at the same time. It helps foster social interaction skills, as well as encourages imagination and creativity. It also lets them explore role-play and sing along to the fun songs.

Plus, the Number Lovin’ Oven is super cute. It’s super colorful and features a friendly face that kids will love. The slider on the front introduces numbers and temperatures, while the stovetop sizzles when you place the skillet on top of it. When kids open the oven door, they hear phrases about sharing, and the pretend food (cupcakes, bread, pizza, all the essential food groups) can be slit into parts of a whole, teaching the basics of fractions.

Best of all, parents will love that everything packs nicely up into the oven for easy storage once play time is over.

Overall, the Number Lovin’ Oven is a great interactive way for kids to get introduced to number concepts through cooking fun. As usual with LeapFrog’s toys, it features tons of fun, with an equal amount of learning baked in.
