It’s time to bid farewell to Ash Ketchum.
The Pokémon Co. dropped some big news for Pokémon fans today: A new Pokémon animated series will debut next year, featuring brand-new characters and plotlines!
The series will feature two main characters, Liko and Roy, as they explore the wonders of the Pokémon universe. Characters from other parts of the Pokémon franchise will appear throughout the series, including Paldea’s partner Pokémon — Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly — from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Pokémon Rayquaza is also making an appearance in the series. Throughout the show, the characters will participate in Trainer battles, discover new Pokémon, and learn the ways of the Pokémon universe.
Before this new series kicks off, Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series will conclude after its current season. In celebration of Journeys’ 25 seasons, Pokémon fans can look forward to special episodes which will showcase Ash’s victory as Pokémon World Champion and feature classic Pokémon creatures and characters, including Misty, Brock, and — of course — Pikachu.
