National Geographic Publishing will launch a packed slate of interactive, educational books this spring for middle-grade readers. There are new almanacs, educational workbooks about the mathematics of sports, Solve This! puzzles, and other exciting reads.

It’s a Numbers Game! Basketball

This math book (photo above), available now, explores the geometry of making the perfect shot and why NBA players only have 24 seconds to score a basket. Kids can become basketball stars and learn about the numbers found all around the court with this book written by James Buckely Jr. The book shares tips to improve kids’ own games, as well as info all about the numbers and statistics that make the game what it is. The pages feature colorful graphics, interesting photos, and sports trivia, along with fun activities at the end of each chapter.
