Another season, another slew of Nerf blasters for me to fangirl over.
Usually, Hasbro‘s bigger Nerf blasters with their fancy motors and automatic rotators and whatnot get all the attention. They live in the spotlight, while the smaller blasters may get an All About Eve-like complex, figuring out how they can steal the show. Therefore, I ask this of you, dear readers: Do not shrug off the smaller, simpler blasters, as they may be the key to your Nerf battle victory.
Enter: the new Nerf N-Strike Elite Dual-Strike Blaster. (I know, right? What a name!) This blaster is not as daunting as some of the bigger models, but it packs a punch. This blaster gives you the power of the Nerf Mega line and the distance of the Nerf Elite line, making for one super-ultimate blaster. It shoots six darts and is pretty lightweight, so kids can easily carry it (read: sprint quickly away from your older brother), while still having enough ammo for battle.
The simple load and shoot functions allow kids to shoot quickly and controlled. I find it a bit easier to shoot more accurately (think: shooting at a target) with the smaller blaster than the bigger ones. Having to pull back on the handle before each shot makes kids in control of the timing of each dart, which, in a way, forces them to become more strategic Nerf experts.
Kids simply load in all the darks, and pull back on the handle to get their shot ready, and fire the Elite darts one at a time. Then, when they’re ready for more power, they can flip the switch and shoot the Mega darts in the same fashion. This hybrid-type blaster is great for target practice, and for kids who are looking for to work on their battle strategy. They can test how far the Elite darts will shoot, and how powerful they can be with the Mega darts, making them battle ready next time they need to protect the neighborhood from other Nerf-blaster-weilding enemies.
