The team at NERF just made something that kids are gonna flip for.

I know this because I’ve seen it first hand.

Earlier this fall, our family moved into a new neighborhood where we quickly discovered (as the moving truck was still here) that the kids in this part of town are serious about their NERF blasters. When a few of them found out that my daughters had the new NERF Elite 2.0 Flipshots Flip-32 blaster, we went from being “the new people” to “the house with the Flipshots.”

Indeed, the Flip-32 is an impressive sight to behold. It’s a blaster with familiar shades of NERF orange and blue with accents of grey and green, including on its darts — all 32 of them, which are loaded into 32 individual barrels.

On one hand, that type of excess might sound like when Homer Simpson decided to make a car. But in this case, it’s genius.

Kids can take to the backyard battlefield with 16 forward-facing barrels and another 32 facing the rear. The lever-action blaster requires no batteries (yeah!) and kids can fire one or two darts at a time depending on how hard they pull the trigger. When the first 16 barrels are empty, kids pull the handle to flip the second batch of 16 barrels to the front and they’re ready for action again!

And, while the kids love this thing, it’s totally cool for parents, too. I will totally admit to looking tough while getting ready to chase some little ones around the house. One word of safety advice: Eye protection is not required, but is highly recommended. They’re NERF Elite 2.0 foam darts, but they are projectiles.

It should be noted that this blaster isn’t the most powerful thing out there, so if you’re looking for long-distance dart-firing with superior accuracy, this might not be exactly what you’re looking for. But, if you want something that’s just pure fun that looks cool and kids love? The NERF Elite 2.0 Flipshots Flip-32 should be a welcome addition to your family’s foam arsenal.

As the saying goes, “It’s NERF or nothing!”
