Nowadays, if your kid can’t code, are you even doing this whole parenting thing right? Don’t get me wrong, I love a good STEM-inspired robo pet just as much as the next girl, but when did we become so distrated by the amazing world of tech toys that we forgot all about the importance of traditional play?

Playtime was way easier before we had to worry about connecting via Bluetooth. In fact, some of my favorite memories of playtime are from the endless hours I spent creating, accessorizing, and playing with paper dolls. Yes, paper was actually my chosen toy!

Good news millennial moms and dads—kids can still have fun while engaging in unplugged play. My Paper Dolly Pouchpad: Welcome to Mimi’s is a great way to re-introduce kids to the long-forgotten days of playtime past. The set features a folder filled with six paper scenes and a pre-cut female figure. There is an opening on each scene that allows kids to slide Mimi in from the back, so that they can create stories about her based on the setting. The paper scenes come in a thick, cardstock-type material, so they are less likely to bend or rip from play.

Whether kids use the scenes to create individual scenarios, or combine them for an exciting storyline, little ones will be encouraged to put their imaginations to work. Mimi can pick out her outfit for the day, enjoy a luncheon feast, go for a swim on a sunny day, scrub-a-dub-dub in the tub, spend the day chillaxing on the couch, and get cozy in bed before catching some z’s. The possibilities are endless!

Sure, kids may not become super tech-savvy as a result of playing with it, but they will get in touch with that right side of their brain. Creativity and imagination are super important to instill in kids at a young age. So, what you waiting for? Be sure to get your hands on the latest sets from Cozy Pouch.
