Mira is on the case!
The upcoming Disney Junior series Mira, Royal Detective is getting the royal treatment. The animated preschool show is gearing up for a U.S. premiere on Friday, March 20 at 11 a.m., followed by an encore at 7 p.m. Disney Channel India will also showcase an on-air sneak peek that same day, followed by a series premiere on March 22.
The series, already renewed for a second season, is set in a magical fairytale land called Jalpur that is inspired by Indian cultures and customs. Mira, Royal Detective follows a brave, resourceful girl named Mira (newcomer Leela Ladnier) who is appointed the role of official royal detective by the queen (Freida Pinto). In the half-hour episodes, Mira and her friends, cousins, and mongoose sidekicks team up on mystery-solving adventures that highlight deductive reasoning skills. In addition, each episode will include at least one original song-and-dance number that showcases the culture.
Following the series premiere, Disney will roll out a digital soundtrack of original songs and a hidden-object online game, and a Just Play toy line will launch this fall.
