Nintendo consoles, including the Wii U and the portable 3DS, are topping kids’ wish lists this year, driven by an abundance of new gaming content, such as Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker— not to mention the introduction of amiibo, Nintendo’s foray into the toys-to-life category.
These consoles appeal to young children and adults (and all of the tweens, teens and 20-somethings in between), but when buying these big-ticket items, it’s important that gift-givers and users understand how to get the most out of their brand new gaming systems.
