Sure, it’s been almost two months since the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, but you know what? I’m not over it.
I loved that movie. And I loved the Star Wars movie marathon I had leading up to its release. I loved Rey and BB-8 and Kylo Ren and Finn. I loved the Millennium Falcon flying back into our hearts. And Chewie. I loved—and will forever love—Chewie.
Luckily for me, Hasbro Gaming has this incredibly fun new game for kids—and me—featuring everyone’s favorite Wookie. Loopin’ Chewie gives kids the chance to join Chewbacca and take down the Stormtroopers. Kids take turns flipping the Millennium Falcon with the paddle to send Chewie flying. If Chewie hits a Stormtrooper, that Stormtrooper is out. The player with the last Stormtrooper standing is the winner.
But don’t worry: When you lose all of your Stormtroopers, you don’t have stop playing! You can keep flipping your paddle to help knock down other players’ Stormtroopers. You just, unfortunately, cannot win.
One of the things I like most about this game is the 4 and up age grade. This fun game with its simple gameplay lets even the youngest Star Wars fan get in on the fun. Plus, Chewie is a crowdpleaser for fans of the new movie, as well as the nostalgic fans of the original trilogy. #Chewie4eva
Each paddle also has the ability to play in two modes—easy or hard—so you can adjust the difficulty of the game based on the ages and skill level of the players. The game also requires a bit of assembly, but it only took me about 10 minutes to set up in full, including putting all the Stormtrooper stickers on the tokens–a one-time-only task.
There’s no doubt that this game will be fun for the whole family. It’s perfect for the Star Wars fan looking for a great way to get their youngest kids involved. Not to mention, Chewie looks so at home in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon!
