It’s great when kids find that one special toy (of the moment) that they want to take everywhere, but what a headache when that beloved toy is bigger than your actual, live kid!

Little Cuties, the new 8-inch baby dolls from Madame Alexander, are here — and they are just the right amount of small and cuddly for some nurturing, on-the-go play. There are three different Little Cuties in the collection, each featuring a different colored outfit and matching accessory, a soft cloth body, and a molded head and limbs. As for appearance, the pink and purple dolls each include a matching headband, while the blue doll includes a cute little beanie.

The Little Cuties’ facial features are painted on, but the coloring and detailing yield a sweet little face, none of those terrifyingly pink cheeks or bulging eyes over here. Parents should note that the heads can be swiveled 360 degrees. Considering that these dolls were built for babies from newborn on up, it’s entirely possible that you’ll spend a fair amount of time twisting that head back into the correct position. It can be a little disconcerting, so don’t be alarmed!

No matter how much TLC babies and kids offer their dolls, they are destined to, at some point or another, get dirty. When that happens, the dolls’ soft bodies and molded parts can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and then laid out to dry. The clothes and accessories can be fully removed and thrown into the wash. (Note: There’s no hangtag with washing instructions specific to the clothing, but the outfit stood up just fine in the wash for me.)

Aside from being downright adorable, Little Cuties help facilitate imaginative, nurturing play for babies and kids of all ages. Now, if only there was a doll that took care of the kids!
