Mama Mia! Mario is jumping out of screens for IRL play with LEGO bricks.

With this Super Mario collab between LEGO and Nintendo, kids can collect virtual coins, run and jump across obstacles, and avoid the baddies like Bowser all with their very own LEGO Mario figure. The LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario Starter Course is available for preorder today.

With LEGO Super Mario, fans can build, play, and collect coins just like they would in the video games. They are fully in charge of creating the exact LEGO level course they want each time. The Starter Course (pictured above) is a highly modular construction set, and this entry point to the entire series of products is needed to unlock the expansion sets.

The Starter Course also comes with an interactive LEGO Mario figure that features an accelerator; a sensor to recognize colors; a speaker that plays iconic sounds and music from the video games; and LCD screens in his eyes, mouth, and belly. Aka, you’ll be able to control your own Mario character IRL with the levels that you create with LEGO bricks. The Starter Course comes with seven action bricks for different interactions with LEGO Mario.

Bowser and Koopa Troopa join the adventure in two new expansion sets: Piranha Plant Power Slide (pictured above) and Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle. Each expansion unlocks its own challenges and includes characters that are only available in that set. Kids can play against their friends or build one giant, epic Super Mario level with all three sets.

The sets will also have a free companion app that will keep track of scores and provide digital building instructions for more building inspo.

The full LEGO Super Mario assortment will launch globally on Aug. 1, but fans can now preorder the LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario Starter Course right here or at major retailers. See the Starter Course in action below!
