We talk about Laser Pegs great building sets on our site a lot, because they are just so cool. For those of you unfamiliar, Laser Pegs is a construction toy company that specializes in lighting up your creations. Laser Pegs sets come with tinted and clear construction blocks, Laser Pegs, and a Power Base so that when you’ve finished building up the set, you can attach it to the Power Base, hit a button, and have a new nightlight or cool piece of room décor. From sets that create fun vehicles to ones that let kids build up famous monuments, Laser Pegs adds a little extra “wow” to the construction aisle.
The Scout Helicopter set is no different, but especially cool for aviation fans. Kids can own the skies with this eight-in-one kit, that lets them to build models including the Air Falcon, the Dolphin Tail, or the Twin Tail. Kids can build up these helicopters and create their own high-flying imaginative scenes, or give it a boost by lighting it up!

All of these building possibilities are packed into a kit that contains a Power Block Power Base, two Laser Pegs, and 122 tinted construction bricks. That’s a LOT of play value in a smaller package. But don’t be fooled: You aren’t simply limited to what comes in the package. The great thing about Laser Pegs bricks is that they are compatible with all major building company’s bricks, so kids can expand their light-up building world with toys that are already around your playroom (or, more likely, scattered around the floors in every room of your house).

The builds are relatively simple for kids to build up, but not so easy they’re boring. Although the kit is designed for kids ages 5 and up, kids of all ages love to build up creations—and with the added touch of being able to light it up, this kit will keep kids entertained for awhile. Since it builds eight different models, and kids can add their own building blocks to the mix, creativity makes the possibilities endless.

Constructions toys are full of great benefits for kids, and this Laser Pegs set is no exception. Besides honing skills such as spatial awareness and dexterity, sets like the Scout helicopter are a great way to sneak STEM-learning into your kid’s every day play patterns. They’ll learn about engineering and design as they build their creations, and then get a little taste of circuitry as they hook up their creations to the Power Base to watch it shine. Fun for kids and educational? Sounds like a win-win to me.
