2014 Hottest Toys FortcraftKids can now build their own life-sized castles, caves, and cabins with Fortcraft, a series of full Minecraft-themed building blocks. It provides gamers with the one thing the online game cannot: the ability to physically interact with the things they create in the game. With the blocks, kids can step away from the keyboard and engage in physical activity, collaboration, and creativity.

One Fortcraft Kit comes with 16 blocks, 18 clear Velcro dots (for making doorways and windows), assembly instructions, and a thank you note. Each block is constructed from heavy-duty corrugated cardboard because the material is strong, durable, cost effective, and fully recyclable. Three different materials are on the different faces of the blocks: cobblestone, wood, and grass.

“Fortcraft came from a combination of the likes of my childhood and current self. When I was a kid, I loved building forts, whether it was out of couch cushions, boxes, or whatever I could find. Now as an adult, I am a massive fan of the game Minecraft. So after searching online and finding out that full-size Minecraft blocks simply did not exist, I decided to create my own, and thus Fortcraft came to be,” Irons said.

Kickstarter donations range from $5 to $130 and prizes include a Fortcraft Starter Pack with seven blocks or a Fortcraft Kit with 16 blocks. Additional blocks can be added to an order in increments of 10. If the Kickstarter campaign reaches its first stretch goal of $25,000, then the company will include a sign to go above the door with every order; if it reaches $50,000, then one ore block will be included with every order.

All orders will be shipped in time for the holidays. Click here to support Fortcraft!
