Being the good guy isn’t always easy.
Kid Cosmic is a new animated series heading to Netflix next month to teach kids a thing or two about superpowers, space travel, alien attacks, and what it takes to be a hero.
The first season of the family-friendly series will feature 10 episodes that follow the adventures of an imaginative 9-year-old boy, called “Kid,” who lives with his free-spirited Grandpa in a lonely desert town. The Kid dreams of being a hero, and that might finally come true when he discovers the 5 Cosmic Stones of Power — the most powerful artifact in space — in a wrecked spaceship. He forms a team of local heroes to stop aliens from stealing the stones. The Kid and his team are the good guys, but they’re not very good at it. The Kid learns that his fantasy of playing the hero is very different from the reality of actually becoming one.
The show is from creator Craig McCracken, who also worked on The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and Wander Over Yonder. It stars Jack Fisher as the Kid, Amanda C. Miller as Jo, Keith Ferguson as Papa G., Tom Kenny as Chuck (who you might just recognize as the voice of SpongeBob), and Fred Tatasciore as Tuna Sandwich.
Kid Cosmic premieres on Tuesday, Feb. 2, on Netflix. Get a preview with the trailer below!
