The hectic schedule of an ultra-successful saxophonist can’t be conquered without a team of experts. What if Kenny G. ran out of hair product? He needs help!

Keepin’ It Saxy, from Big G Creative, gives families a chance to help the legendary Kenny G. get through anything that’s thrown his way. Getting the musician concert-ready can’t be accomplished alone, so you’ll need two to five players to save him from missing his performance.

After setting up the game, place Kenny G. on the first spot on the board. Choose the corresponding amount of event cards to the number of players whenever he changes spots. For example, if there are two people playing and they are on the first move, they will choose two events from the orange category. Five players in the third space will choose three events.

Events could mean Kenny G. had no matching socks, or maybe his seaplane ran out of fuel. No matter how dire, it’s your job to get him through it.

An event is conquered when all the sound icons on the card are matched by cards the players put down. Each player gets one turn during which they can take three actions. Play a sound card, play an ability card, draw two cards, or trade one card with another player. The sound icons have to be done in order. Singing them isn’t necessary, but it does add to the fun!

For each event that wasn’t completed after each player takes their turn, you must roll the amount of dice as indicated by the number on the event card’s right corner. After rolling, take away the number of Groove tokens that correspond to the number on your dice. If the groove tokens have disappeared completely, then Kenny G. has lost his groove — and you’ve lost the game.

If there are still Groove tokens on the board, then it’s time to move to the next space and play again. Keep going until tokens are either gone or you’ve gotten to the end of the board. If you get to the end with at least one token on the board, then you won! Players can measure their performance on the chart inside of the instruction sheet.

Older kids and nostalgic parents will have fun collaborating as a team to get Kenny G. to his performance.
