It’s time to hunt for candy — and ghosts — this Halloween with a new augmented reality (AR) game inspired by Ghostbusters!
Snack and candy company Ferrara is partnering with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, home of the Ghostbusters franchise, to create a ghost-hunting mobile game called Haunted Candy Hunt. Players can log onto ghosthuntntrap.com on their phones to search for Slimer and Sweeter the Ferrara Candy Ghost, an original character created for the game.
Kids can capture the ghosts virtually for a chance to win fun prizes each week, including Hasbro’s Ghostbusters Plasma Series and Kenner Series action figures. The grand prize is a Sony home theater package, featuring a 55-inch Sony 55X900H TV, a WS1 Immersive Wearable Speaker, a Blu-ray player, and PlayStation 4. The experience was created by Trigger.
Ferrara is also launching new candy products this Halloween, including Brach’s Mellowcreme Caramel Apples, Brach’s Skull & Bones, Brach’s Turkey Dinner Candy Corn, Brach’s Sour Haunted Tropics Candy Corn, and more individually-wrapped fun-sized treats. Eat, drink, and be scary!
