Lion Brand Yarn Company and Faber-Castell are pulling together to release a special, anti-bullying edition of the Quick Knit Loom.

The collaboration is woven with love in support of the #HatNotHate campaign and Lion Brand’s premier advocacy initiative. Crafters of all levels will receive everything they need to create two EZ-knit blue hats, a key asset of the campaign.

The mission of the campaign is to enrich lives through creativity and self-expression and to make sure bullying is no longer thought of as a normal part of childhood. It was originally founded in 2018 by Shira Blumenthal, the brand ambassador for Lion Brand Yarn, because of her own experience with bullying as a child. She began collecting homemade, blue stitched hats and distributing them to school across the country in an effort to show solidarity during National Bullying Prevention Month in October.

As with everything else this year, the movement is staying at home. The 2020 goal of collecting 100,000 hats has been pushed to next year — but this just means kids have plenty of time to keep crafting. The kit contains four balls of blue yarn, one round loom, one tassel/pom pom maker, one loom hook, one plastic needle, two needle threaders, and two branded #HatNotHate faux leather tags. Instructions come in the box as well, or kids can watch a video online.

#HatNotHate has officially partnered with The It Gets Better Project, a like-minded LGBTQ youth charity. Distribution of hats and in-school assemblies will resume next October for kids to learn more about the initiative.

Find the kit on Amazon, HatNotHate.org, and more retailers!
