It doesn’t get much trendier in the toy industry these days than party games and crowdfunding—and Hasbro’s combining both!

Starting today, Hasbro is calling on game designers nationwide to share their ideas for a new party game on www.nextgreatgamechallenge.com. Hasbro will evaluate these entries and choose five game designers or teams of designers as finalists and invite them to launch their concepts on Indiegogo and promote them on Hasbro’s partner page. The toy manufacturing giant will then select a grand prize winner to receive $10,000 and a trip to Hasbro headquarters to meet and work with the game development team to help make his or her party game a reality!

So how will Hasbro decide which games have what it takes? The company’s game experts and designers (coolest jobs ever) will evaluate ideas based on their gameplay mechanics, theme, potential for “fun-ness,” and viability.

The challenge starts today on nextgreatgameschallenge.com, so head over and submit ideas through September 30! The five finalists will be announced on October 30, and will officially launch their Indiegogo campaigns to get funding and build fan support.

I know what you’re thinking: What if I’m not a marketing genius?! How will I get people to love me?! Easy—Hasbro and Indiegogo will work with the finalists to build their campaigns and offer support (which is SUPER nice of them!). The campaigns run until December 1, and then one (LUCKY!) grand prize winner will be announced later in December.

The gaming challenge with Indiegogo marks the first time that Hasbro has worked with a crowdfunding company, and is also one of the first projects led by the Hasbro Gaming Lab—a team dedicated to connecting with the growing gaming community to discover and develop new fun games to keep us all entertained.

Now’s your chance to try to do something with that idea that you insist is “the greatest idea ever” to your friends every time you see them!
