It’s not so easy for an alligator to make friends when he has a habit of eating the neighborhood pets.

Gabby & Gator tells the tale of a misplaced alligator who spends his days alone in the sewer because of his little problem — until he makes friends with a lonely girl named Gabby. The graphic novel was originally published by Yen Press in 2010, and is now getting a refresh from JY, the Yen Press imprint dedicated to middle-grade readers.

The new edition of Gabby & Gator will feature an updated logo and a newly drawn cover illustration by James Burks, the creator of the Bird & Squirrel graphic novel series. The story follows the adventures of Gabby and Gator after they meet, proving that best friends accept you just as you are, even when no one else does.

The JY edition of Gabby & Gator is set to release this October.
