Hasbro’s quirky creature is back in a big way this year. With Furby Connect, the furry robotic toy and its component app combine to make for hours of physical and digital play.

Furby fans will immediately notice some of the more obvious changes to the newest version. For starters, its ears have grown in size, allowing it to function better and respond to touch and sound. Additionally, the full-color LED eyes, which feature more than 150 animations, allow for even more expressions. Also—less technological but equally as important and worthy of mention—Furby Connect’s fur is incredibly soft and, quite honestly, irresistible to touch.

Fubry Connect interacts with its owner in a bunch of entertaining ways. For instance, kids can tickle, feed, shake, pet, and turn their Fubry upside down to see and hear all the whacky ways it will react. It’s also witty and full of sass, which makes for plenty of entertaining phrases and catchy songs. Some of my favorite comments from the animated creature have been “help a Furb out,” and “the struggle is real,” because preach, Furby, preach.

Fubry Connect is not only cute, but it’s pretty smart, too. Now, when friends get together, they can all bring their furry friend along for the fun because when Fubry Connects are introduced to one another, they’ll remember each other’s names and greet them with it for the next visit.

furbyworldThe app opens up a world—a Furby World to be exact—of fun opportunities. While its predecessor, Furby Boom, also had a compatible app, the FURBY CONNECT World app takes its capabilities to a much higher level. When kids use the app and connect their Furby via Bluetooth, they’ll still be able to do some of the same functions, such as virtually fling food from their smart device to their Furby and play a bunch of mini-games. Now, however, Furby can virtually hatch eggs, and the more Furblings that kids collect, the more functions they unlock in the app. For instance, when kids collect enough items, they can help fix broken sites in the world to build a fishing club and other fun places.

Furby is also pretty hip and up-to-date on what’s trending in the world. Thanks to updates from the app, Furby Connect knows what songs are currently popular, as well as what videos are going viral. And, you can bet it has a lot to say about them, too. The movie theater in Furby World features a big viewing screen, a dance floor, and even a DJ booth. Basically, all the cool kids Furblings hang out here. Parents, before you go into full-blown panic mode, you should also know that Hasbro carefully sifts through all song and video selections to ensure that they are kid-friendly before anything gets passed on to Fubry. Furby even lets you know when there are new updates to discover. Each time the antenna on top of its head lights up blue, new surprises await in the app.

I know what you’re thinking, how could this Furby get any cooler? Well, FURBY CONNECT World also has the ability to let Furby—wait for it—poop! That’s right, after Furby’s been munching on a day’s worth of treats, it’ll let you know when it’s got to go. Then, there’s no telling what surprises are in store (trust me on that one).

furby_sleepAnyone who has ever owned a Furby knows that perhaps the only downside is that this thing can chew an ear off. It’s all fun and games until your Furby decides to strike up a conversation in the middle of the night, just as your kid has finally drifted off to sleep. Hasbro hears you on that, and each Furby Connect comes with its own sleep mask. Whenever kids are ready to give their Furby some rest for the day, they can clip on Furby’s sleep mask and you won’t hear a peep from it until the mask is removed.

Thanks to all its new features and updates, Furby Connect is like that cool best friend that everyone always wishes they had. With Hasbro’s revamped creature—available in pink, purple, blue, and teal—a world of endless surprises will be right at kids’ fingertips.
