Funko Marvel Battleworld

Kids and families will have a whole new way to collect and battle this summer!

Funko and Marvel have teamed up for Marvel Battleworld: Mystery of the Thanostones, a new micro collectible tabletop gaming system.

Revealed exclusively across the Toy Insiderthe Pop Insider, and the Toy Book, Marvel Battleworld: Mystery of the Thanostones invites 1-4 players to battle against the Mad Titan — Thanos — in gameplay unleashed through a Battle Ball.

Each Battle Ball contains a surprise assortment including two collectible Marvel characters, Hero Cards, Battle Cards, and pair of dice. Players can collect and battle with iconic heroes including Iron Man, Captain Marvel, and Groot alongside characters including Valkyrie Gamora, Throg, and Spider-Ham.

Series 1 includes surprise Battle Balls and a Mega Pack that comes with six collectible heroes and 13 Battle Cards. Kids can be on the lookout for exclusive characters including Negative Zone Spider-Man.

The adventure continues on screen with short-form, animated Marvel Battleworld content created by Funko Animation Studios in collaboration with Marvel.

In the animated shorts, kids will be introduced to a new plot by Thanos to trap Marvel heroes in Battleworld. The content will be available across multiple platforms including Disney XD, Marvel HQ, YouTube, and more.

“We are thrilled that Marvel has chosen to expand the Funko collaboration to engage their younger fans with a new category of products and animation collaboration,” says Funko CEO Brian Mariotti. “Funko enters the toy aisle for the first time with a product offering of tremendous value. In addition to two micro-collectible characters inside the Battle Ball, the child can battle independently or team up with friends to defeat Thanos through gameplay. This kind of product assortment is both what kids want and what retailers are keen to offer parents.”

Marvel Battleworld: Mystery of the Thanostones will be first to market at Target stores nationwide this June.
