There’s no such thing as too many books, especially when school is out for the summer (or maybe even longer).

Check out these four new young adult books that came out today, perfect for bored teens who need to add some excitement to their summer plans.

Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron is a new take on the classic tale that will make readers root for girls to break down society’s constraints. It’s about teen girls that are required to appear at the annual ball, where the men of the kingdom choose wives based on the girls’ appearances. If the girls are not chosen for a match, they’re never heard from again. Sixteen-year-old Sophia would rather marry her childhood best friend, Erin, than any of the suitors, so she flees the ball to hide in Cinderella’s mausoleum. There, she meets the last known descendant of Cinderella and we learn that there’s more to the princess’ story than anyone ever knew.

Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust is a feminist fairytale about a princess who is cursed to be poisonous to the touch. She has to live hidden away from the world until she is tempted to venture out for her twin brother’s wedding. When she finds a demon in the dungeon who holds knowledge she craves, she questions whether she is becoming a human or a monster.

The Damned by Renée Ahdieh is the second installment of The Beautiful fantasy series that follows the events after the previous book, in which Sébastien Saint Germain is now cursed and the treaty between the Fallen and the Brotherhood has been broken. Celine has set a chain of events into motion that could lead to her downfall and war between the immortals is imminent. As forces lurk in the shadows, Celine and Bastien learn that their love could tear them apart.

Lastly, Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power is a thriller about a girl with a mysterious past who goes searching for answers when she finds a photograph that reveals her mother’s hometown. Margot’s mother left for a reason and Margot is about to get more than she bargained for upon her arrival. There’s poison in their family tree and now she might never escape.

All four books are available on Amazon and Kindle, or you can look for them at local bookstores.
