As parents continue to home-school their kids for the rest of the year due to COVID-19, they can get a little help with math class from Kahoot!, a game-based learning platform.

For the month of May, Kahoot! is offering its DragonBox Numbers math learning app for free. Normally priced at $7.99, DragonBox Numbers is designed to help kids ages 4-8 to improve their understanding of numbers and how they relate to each other. The app is ideal for self-directed learning at home, featuring several games and activities that will engage and educate kids as they play.

DragonBox Numbers features something called “Nooms,” research-based characters that are more intuitive to visualize and work with than regular numbers. Each number is represented by a Noom with a unique size and color. Two is twice as tall as one, and so on. Each time kids complete a puzzle, they are developing their understanding of numbers and reinforcing their number sense. When children manipulate the Nooms, they are actually practicing addition and subtraction without noticing.

Parents can download the app for free all month long through the iOS App Store.
