Superheroes may be most closely associated with comic book stories or big-screen action movies, but Dole Food Company wants to celebrate the heroic acts of ordinary, real-life people.
As part of the Dole Healthy Heroes, Assemble! empowered-living initiative, Dole is expanding the eligibility opportunities for its Celebrate Super Heroes Contest. After receiving many requests from people wanting to nominate the everyday heroes in their lives, Dole has extended the rules to allow anyone to nominate someone worth celebrating, no matter how small their act of heroism or selflessness. Those nominated in the contest have the chance to win one of eight first prizes ($1,000) and the grand prize ($2,000) with the opportunity to win up to $3,000 in prize money. Those wanting to nominate an everyday hero can click here for a full list of rules and instructions.
Last week, Dole entered second campaign phase, which is dedicated to Healthy Heroes of the Soul. Dole defines these heroes as actors, musicians, poets, painters, leaders, and more, all dedicated to inspiring others. This phase will take place until June 19.
The ongoing campaign also features original, Marvel-inspired Dole recipes, such as Spidey Sense Veggie Pizzas, Avocado-Berry Gamora Salad, and Banana Bucky Buckeyes. A total of 20 original Marvel character-inspired recipes will be released throughout the campaign and are available to download at dole.com/disney.
Marvel fans can also keep a lookout in supermarkets throughout North America for five new, collectible Dole banana stickers featuring Gamora, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Ghost Spider, and the Winter Soldier, as well as a new pineapple tag with Hawkeye, Ghost Spider, and Gamora.
