I’m always looking for a good excuse to enjoy a little pampering. It’s become a bit of a tradition that my kids make a relaxing gift for me (and others) for Mother’s Day. This DIY Lemon Sage Sugar Scrub is the perfect gift for kids to make for Mom, grandmas, or aunts — and it’s great for end-of-the-year teacher gifts, too!
What I love about making this scrub is that we’re using real ingredients that you probably already have around the house. You don’t have to worry about any chemicals or buying weird stuff you’ll never use again.
What You Need:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup extra light olive oil
- 2 tbs coconut oil (melted)
- Lemon
- Sage
- Jars
How to Make It:
Step 1: Add 2 cups of sugar to a mixing bowl.
Step 2: Slowly add the 1/3 cup extra light olive oil. Make sure it’s the extra light!
Step 3: Stir together these ingredients, or you can mix them together with your hands.
Step 4: Slowly add the 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil, constantly mixing the ingredients.
Step 5: Cut your lemon and squeeze in the juice.
Step 6: Cut some sage and add it into the mix.
Step 7: Mix it all together.
Step 8: Add the scrub to the jars and gift it!
With the sugar scrub, you’ll just want to apply it to your skin and let the sugar do the scrubbing. The oil will make your skin soft, and smelling of lemon and sage, while you’re in the shower or bath. Since you’re using fresh ingredients, you can either keep the sugar scrub in the fridge or a cool space for two to three weeks.
Anyone who can measure and pour can make this gift and enjoy the benefits of a little pampering!
